Hyperspectral Non-Imaging Sensors

SSSC non-imaging sensors are ideal for recording the behavior of energetic point targets.  Like a relatively wide field-of-view spectrometer, these “pseudo-imaging” systems are employed on operational platforms and in the lab to exploit the unique spectral-temperature signatures of fast, energetic events.

  • Crossed Dispersion Prism (CDP) spectral-temporal sensor technology (US patents 7,155,354 and 7,499,836)
  • Relatively wide field-of-view spectrometer concept (not a “soda straw”)
  • Based on an innovative optical element called the Crossed Dispersion Prism (CDP)
  • Pseudo-imaging process
  • Detection of uncued dynamic events (staring)
  • Sub-pixel location accuracy
  • Very broad spectral ranges (VIS through MWIR)
  • Moderate spectral resolution (~280 colors)
  • Single frame spectral characterization
  • Very fast data acquisition and processing
  • Suitable for airborne platforms
  • No moving parts
